Turning back time

I wish I hadn’t done that. Why did I do that? If only I had of done something different. If only I had chosen better.

How many people wish their past was different, wish that they had rolled a different dice, walked a different path or chosen better.

How many people set that blame on others. If only they hadn’t done that, if they had of been different and so on.

Wouldn’t a crystal ball be amazing to see how the future will evolve. Or even a time machine to go back and alter the past.

If you could, would you make that change? Then what?

Like it or not you are here now, the past is called the past for a reason. That time has pasted. But you can learn from that route that lead you to your destination. Why not take a step back and think about what you have learnt along the way.

Take control of the present, you cannot predict the future but your actions can make a difference.

Why have therapy?

How often can you be open and say how you really feel without feeling judged?

You will need to commit to your sessions, no matter how hard it gets, working regularly within the session will build the therapeutic relationship which includes trust, empathy, confidentiality and ethical boundaries.

How many sessions will I need? Well that is a hard question to answer. It depends on your issues, your situation, how deep-rooted your issues are and how they have affected you. Remember we are all different.

Finally, It is important to find the right therapist for you. From here I will always advise you to visit another counsellor for an initial consultation so that you can decide who is right for you. Remember it is your choice who you choose for your therapy.

Choice and Control

At Subconscious Healing the words Choice and Control are used so often, both positively and negatively. So why are these 2 words used so much?
How often in life do you find yourself doing something you just really don’t want to do? But you don’t know how to change it. How often do you hear somebody saying something like ‘You have to do it this way’ or ‘I will not be happy if you choose to do that’. And all you want to do is do it your own way.
So often other’s take away our choice and control, which can then easily lead to negative thinking patterns, emotions and behaviours.
